More Ovarian Cysts And Scared

Well here I go again and in complete agony just 5 months post op after 14cm left ovarian cyst which stuck my bladder and bowel down, and at the time I was fobbed off by my surgeon, it all came to a standstill when my bowel and bladder virtually stopped working, when ever I tried to open my bladder i would hear a large clicking noise, my surgeon told me this was nonsence and sent me home 2 weeks later i had to have an emergency op, the cyst was begnin, my recovery has been very slow and painful, whilst insurgery I had my left ovary and tube removed they was meant to take my rt ovary but left it and just pooped the cyst on it without investigations, well within 2 months of my operation I could tell there was more cyst coming my surgeon tried again to fob me off again, so reluctantly they scanned me again 9 weeks ago I had 2 cysts at 2cm 1 was complex haemorragic and the other just a simple cysts, my surgeon said they would disappear and they would rescan me again in a year I told them no, within a couple of months, well 4 weeks ago i had horrible pain as though something had r uptured, I nearly went to er but didnt, just been swallowing lots of pain meds, I have horrendous back ache so my doctor asked for an emergency scan last week and yes another cyst grown but grown to 5cm within a couple of weeks I have now 2 complex haemarragic cyst, and a simple cyst, all at 5cm, at the moment I feel like I could curl up and die, the pain is bad, just trying to get comfortable and just sit up normally is a task itself, my gp has told me these cyst should not hurt at all, what does he know, he thinks these are just simple cysts, my back hurts, my thighs and my right side up to my rib cage hurts, and going to the loo is unbearable, my stomach is so swollen and again struggling to eat my stomach feels full with just a little food, my first cyst at 14cm i dont think I had much pain with it was only when i was struggling to open my bladder and bowel that i knew it was there, well in fact I thought it was an hernia

I am so scared with this has I have strong family history of ovarian cancer and 20 years ago I had the early stages of cervical cancer, I had an hysterectomy 10 years ago due to heavy bleeding, so at the moment I just have the one ovary left in I have never had polycystic ovaries and do not think I have, just that I keep producing simple cysts which are turning into haemarragic cysts and growing very fast, why is this happening, will i have to have surgery again and with possibility of a surgical menopause I am only 41 I have requested a mri or a cat scan now.

I always get swollen lymph nodes in my armpit, but at the moment my lymph glands are swollen in my neck and collar bone, Ive no cold or anything so dont know whats going on.

Well i get to know my fate tomorrow I been told my consultant will be calling me to deceide what to do as he was going to look at my scan today, i dont know whether he will still want to watch and wait, but Im not to sure whether they think its now getting serious with 3 complex cysts in my only ovary each the size of golfballs even though the think they are the haemorragic type, Im waiting for it they will tell me too small for pain.

Im not too sure about lymph nodes in the pelvis, so i could not tell you
Just to let you know i suffered when i was younger with infertility and cyst on ovarys i had 2 children so dont worry, you need to stop worrying about pregnancy, my 2nd child i had to have infertility drugs,  I thought i was past all of this after I had my  hysterectomy

We were trying for a baby and obviously nothing was happening so went for checks, had a scan and there is was, so it was a shock!

Where are your swollen lymph nodes, can you feel them?  I am not sure if mine are lymph nodes or not, they are above my public bone, not my groin, they feel like small squidgy fat balls, I could have always had them, but I have just been feeling more, i dont know if its my abdomen wall, I am not fat, in fact I have lost alot of weight due to worrying, so I dont know if its lose muscle, i am only 7.5 stone.  I have read you are not supposed to feel pelvic lymph nodes because they are too deep in the pelvis, even if swollen

I know where your coming from ere they do not have a clue about a cyst until they go in and open you up, i was meant to be under an oncologist at leeds but i ended up an emergency I had a trans vaginal one first then cat scan and they still did not have a clue 1 minute they told me it was cancer then the next minute not horrible experience I had swollen lypmh nodes to but that can be anything I have them really bad at moment

Try not to worry its the worse thing you can do this is why I would never wish to have a cyst drained, my big cyst I did not have a clue it was there but  when they found it it was 10cm, but your surgery will be straight forward, and you will feel better asap, its easy to say not to worry, but a lot of dermoids are benign, I was so sure my was cancer, but hey I was ok, and your young, Im waiting to see my consultant urgently and I sorta know i will be having surgery in a few weeks or maybe an emergency so eres fingers crossed all is ok for you, honestly you will feel miles better afterwards, just dont rush recovery like I did.

How did you know your cyst was there !

They drained it because at first the ultrasound scan said multiple fine echoes, most likely a hemorrhagic cyst or endometrioma, I too cant beleive he drained it once he went in, he said it will show completely solid because he has drained the fluid so its all conjealed, so I am wondering if its all the hair that you get in dermoids that lumped together, the fluid was okay when tested, but I am concerned the solid tissue wont be, and now I am worried he could have spread cells and I keep thinking I can feel swollen lymph nodes on my lower abdomen just above my pelvis, but I am not sure if its fatty muscle, I have been so worried over it all, and people keep saying they must know what they are doing, but I keep saying he shouldnt have drained it, it could have been anything.  I didnt have an MRI or Cat Scan, just an transabdominal ultrasound.  He thinks its a dermoid, but I know a small percentage of those can be cancerous, I just hope I am not in that small percent.  I cant believe they burnt your thighs! You have ben through so much.  I am in Warrington, Cheshire.  Next time I am coming back as a Man!

They dont have a clue I think like the first time and after a cat scan until they went in they did not know what they were dealing with and my scan was only last thurs so waiting to see consultant when ever that is I dont think I have the option of laproscopy, cause of adhesions, I have had 3 laprotomys 5 keyhole, and keyhole is not one they can do for me now, my last surgery was a laparotomy, things were a mess adhesions, they had to laser them I came back from surgery with all my thighs burnt as well from the laser

Omg they tried to drain yours not a good option if it is solid and they should of known that from mri and cat scan, I hope your surgery goes ok, you are not so far away from me as Im in lancashire, be thinking of you, I might and hoping they sort me out within next few weeks, my cyst are growing very fast one grown in 2 weeks to 5cm so a little scared with these ones

Tinabro, if the hospital is really really sure they are hemorrgrahic cysts you could ask them to drain them via laporscopy or ultrasound guidance.  Hemorhagic cysts do resolve on their own but they can take a few months, they thought I had a 10cm hemorhagic cyst or endometrioma, so drained it, but it wasnt either, they now think its a dermoid (they can all look similar on ultrasound)  I still have mine and it looks completely solid now, so I am having it taken out next Tuesday.  I wouldnt recommend draining a cyst only if they were absolutely sure it is a hemorrograhic or simple cyst, they could tell this by viewing it by laporscopy keyhole, which will be much much less invasive surgery for you. I really hope you get this sorted, I feel for you and the pain you have gone through.  Having said that, if you are not bothered about losing your only ovary, you could ask them to take it during keyhole, but I am sure at 41 you wont want to go through the surgical menopause
Sounds like a terrible hospital in the UK.  My NHS hospital reacted very quickly with mine (within 2 weeks) although they did only drain it, 8 weeks on I face another surgery, but this time the laparotomy.
