Ovarian Cyst - So Uncomfortable!

Hello all!  I'm 36 years old and have always had a relatively normal menstrual cycle...until recently. My last cycle was 35 days. I got my period October 4th. Since then I have not gotten my period. Last week my doctor put me on Provera, a pill that is supposed to bring my period on. Then last Friday, I started feeling like I had a cyst. I know what it feels like because I've had them in the past. But usually they go away when I get my period, except my period isn't coming! I went back to the doctor yesterday and had a vaginal ultrasound (not enjoyable) and I was right. I have a 3.5 cm "nearly simple cyst" on my left ovary.  I feel pressure and kind of like it's pushing on my bladder. Is that possible. In the past, when I had cysts larger than this one, they hurt but didn't make me this uncomfortable, I feel like I constantly have to pee and I can't get comfortable no matter how I sit or lay down. I'm hoping the provera makes my period come and that the cyst resolves at that time. Has anyone had any experiences like this? I am so so uncomfortable that I'm almost in tears at work. Not so much in pain but just pressure and the feeling of something pushing on my bladder all the time. I have to go back to the doctor in 2 weeks and hopefully my period will have come and the cyst resolved by that time. The thought of dealing with this constant uncomfortability indefinitely is making me panic.

I am 38 yr old who has been  dealing with ovarian cystic for yrs now. About 5 yrs ago they removed my right tub and ovary due to the cystic. I also had them on the left side but not as bad. I have always had irregular cycles  because of this. Well a few month ago went to the dr for a follow up after being in the hospital the dr.stated that I might have polycystic ovarian syndrome. So months have passed and nothing has been done. I had to go to the ER this pass weekend  come to find out that the cystic on my left side is 10cm. And pressing on my uterus. This months cycle was very painful and I'm still bleeding 15 days later. God I pray they can get me in sooner this constant pain is getting on my nerves. My question is can it cause bladder infections or UTI's

I know what you are feeling, Except i have some free fluid and doctor says it may have been a cyst that ruptured. I have a small 1.7 complex cyst now. I started off with urinary frequency at the end of october and that went away but i still have this weird pelvic/bladder pressure especially when i'm sitting down. Feels like a tightness in my pelvic area.  Hopefully it goes away with my next period.  Hope you feel better soon!

Thank you for responding. I've had cysts before that were quite painful. Oddly enough, this one isn't painful, just VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I am constantly aware of it. Feels like a giant air bubble is on my ovary and I feel pressure on my bladder kind of.  Hopefully, the provera I finished yesterday will bring my period and the cyst will resolve with that. Have a great day!

Cysts can cause a bit of discomfort and pain especially if they rupture, are leaking, or are large. Have you tried taking some ibuprofen? Hopefully, the cyst will resolve soon!
