Ovarian Cyst 4cm - 27 yrs old

Hi

Last Thursday night I had a lot of pain on my left side and went to the doctor on Friday. They did an ultrasound and they said I have a 4cm ovarian cyst. I had 2 cyst before that gave me a little pain but they were around 1cm. I have a lot more pain and discomfort with this cyst. The doctor told me to wait until I get my cycle and then I have to redo an ultrasound. she also suggested that I go on the bill and if it does not go away after 2-3 cycles I need to do a surgery and remove it. They said its either a "Hemorrahagic Cysts" or a "Dermoid cyst". I was wondering if anybody has had similar situation? I have been looking online and have seen some pictures and I am starting to get worried......I also read online that sugar and caffeine is bad, any suggestions on what I can eat or vitamins I can take that might help the cyst go away?

Thanks

Thank you so much for the response. My doctor suggested waiting 2 cycles and then having surgery, I am praying it will just go away on its own...When I went to the doctor they took a blood test and my platelet count was low so now I have to worry about as well, I am suppose to re-do the blood test in 2 weeks and also do a bone marrow biopsy, the Hematologist did not believe this had anything to do with my cyst so I guess its a complete different issue.. thanks for the response

Hi there.  There are many ladies here with both.  I think that mine was hemorragic - I had a grapefruit sized cluster of cyst that had bled together.  Over 95% of all cysts are benign.  Don't wait to long to push for surgery if it does not resolve within 2 cycles.  And, don't be afraid to ask for something for the pain - it can be fierce.  I've not heard of any diet or vitamins that help.  I have read where cysts can be due to estrogen dominance as a result of all the chemicals and hormones in our food.  So eating organically might help in the future but won't help your current situation.
