Ovarian Cyst

I posted about 5 weeks ago about my 8 cm ovarian cyst.  Oct. 15th, I had symptoms of an appendicitis, and an ultrasound found the cyst instead.  The cyst is on my right ovary.  They think it is an endometrioma. 3 weeks ago, my ob/gyn scheduled surgery for 1/27/10, gave me strong pain meds, and said that I could have the surgery sooner, if the pain gets worse, but I want to get through the holidays.....However, I can't do anything!  I manage to work, to take care of the family, but have zero energy, constant pain that goes up and down depending on how much medicine I take. Last night, I became nauseous, the pain got so bad that even the 2 oxycoton I took did absolutely nothing.  I managed to sleep for about 6 hours, but am nauseous again, and the pain is constant and not decreasing with meds.
I wonder if it's getting bigger?  I have another ultrasound scheduled for Dec. 14, but wonder if I should get it sooner....
How quickly can these suckers grow?  Any advice as to how to treat the pain?

Hi sarag123,

Yes, if your pain is this severe, you should go the the ER.  Don't wait!

Some can grow larger but when you have an increase in pain like you are experiencing you should head to the ER.  You may be suffering from torsion (twisting) or bursting which can be medical emergencies.
