Ovarian cyst surgery 9 hours ago...

hi.I'm a 33 year old female who has no history of any reproductive problems. 3 days ago I found out i had a cyst on my right ovary. yesterday I went to the emergency room in extreme pain and they called in on Call ob to come down, within a half hour see me he scheduled emergency surgery for today. I had my surgery at noon today, and I just have a few questions because I'm so unprepared. I've googled it but I'm looking for personal experiences.
-Can I sleep on my stomach? Or will it hurt too bad to try?
- My belly button incision hurts so bad, the other 2 don't bother me, this normal?
the doctor also called me a few hours ago he said he wanted to wait till I was out of recovery so I'd remember, but he said my uterus and everything in there was very inflamed and he was pretty worried, he prescribed an antibiotic in case its an infection, but has anyone heard of inflammation in that area? Like I said, I have no kids, I never have even seen and gyno, my primary Dr has done my paps... So this is all new to me. I'm intelligent and I've read up a lot about this, but hearing from people who has experienced it seems like a good idea. I'm open to any advice, any more questions anything.
Thank you.

Hi Brittany,
Your belly button incision is where the scope was put in so the doc could see what needed tending to. they also inflate your tummy with gas for the same reason. You may notice that you have pain or discomfort in you shoulders because of the gas traveling upwards. Best way to minimize it is to walk around a little. I would try to avoid laying on your tummy as much as possible.... Especially if your incision is already bothering you. Please make sure to keep the incision clean, dry and covered till your post op appointment. If you don't think something is right call the surgeon and ask. Hopefully you will be feeling much better in a few days. Ive had a couple of these surgeries but not for inflammation.  I had a cyst removed, adhesions, endometriosis and some work on my uterus so I could eventually have children. If I can help please feel free to message me. Hope you feel better soon!!

Sometimes the bb one is way more sensitive. My first surgery it hurt until I got staples out. As far as what you're going through, I feel for you. Did they know what kind of cyst? Did it rupture? We're you bleeding internally? Last 2 cause extra irritation. And the pain might just be focused on your bb. If it gets worse call Dr. If cyst ruptured or they leaked some of the juice of it it would hurt more and increase chances of infection. Antibiotics help that. But still, if it gets worse call Dr. They'll know with a quick blood test if you're getting infections.

When I had my surgery, I tried to sleep on my back for the first few nights.  I propped pillows around me so I wouldn't roll over in my sleep.  I don't have any info on the inflammation.  I was just told to monitor my temp. and  to watch for any signs of infection.  Good luck!
