Ovarian cysts and breast lumps

by olderthanmyage, Jun 23, 2009 03:26PM
I am 27yrs old and had my daughter a year ago. Since her birth I have been diagnosed with Autoimmune Disease Palandromic Rheumatism Arthritis, Asthma and the new latest extremely painful ovarian cysts. I average 2 cysts a month that get about an average of 5cm.I have extreme abdominal pain every 2 weeks with these and not to mention the constant breast pain. My doctor said that the two go hand in hand and the pain won't end until the cysts stop forming. Now today I found a large lump on my breast too boot. I went to my primary (my ob is on vacation) and she said it is probably a cysts but is concerned because i have lost weight and scheduled an mammogram and ultrasound for next week. Is it possible that all could be related to each other. I have a hard time believing that at 27 yrs old I have the body of a 90 year old :) I have looked everywhere and no website has any relationship between the two.

Yes, there can be a connection.. . .  Wait and see what the mammogram shows and see if they want to do a needle biopsy. That will tell them more.

Any idea why you've lost weight recently?

And your ovarian cysts have deflated or broken on their own each month? That would be painful.

Something is out of sync in your body and I hope they can find the answers you need.

I have a daughter with PCOS and she is only 29 and I too have cyst poping up places. I saw something about hormonal problems on TV and think it might help with that. It was about a girl who had PCOS and wanted to have children. Later, found out she needed to see an endocrinologist. She said it worked for her. Just thought it couldn't hurt to check that out.

I thought I had lost weight because I gave up Pepsi. I was drinking a case a day! Last time I did this I lost 15lbs. This time I am at 30lbs. I don't have PCOS. I have complex cysts that come with my cycle I guess and this should have no problem when I decide for another child. They all resolve on their own with a lot of pain. The thought of having a mammogram on already painful breasts doesn't seem too fun :) I am hoping that it is hormonal and can be easily fixed. I feel like the pregnancy went great and my body fell apart after!! I might call my physician and see if she can order blood work that way I will have all my results on the same day.

I had my ultrasound and I guess it is a tumor. I was hoping for a cyst. I will have a biopsy on Wednesday. I am now hoping for a fibroadenoma and not breast cancer. My mass doesn't move and every website that i have been on states that fibroadenomas move all around the breast. I guess I will have to wait two more weeks for the biopsy results. This has been the longest month of my life!!!!
