Pcos

I was diagnosed with pcos and since I have been trying to get pregnant. My periods are very normal. I have showed signs of being pregnant but they tests have been negative. Why could this be? How big of a role does stress play in getting pregnant. Side question what all does getting a papsmear check for?

well, i have been trying since about october of 2011. about that time i was planning my wedding. I had my period during october. November the month of my wedding, i didnt have one. then in december i was late and it was lighter than normal. janurary was on time based on decemebers period and heavier also. Feburary was on time and normal. this month i have yet to have one. I missed november ecause of stress but this month i am not stressed. I havent taken a test yet this month because i lost track of the date i was suppose to start.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Some patients who have pcos do have difficulty getting pregnant especially when their cycles are irregular.  I am not sure why in your situation you are having difficulty getting pregnant since you are having regular cycles.  40% of infertility is "male factor" so if after trying for one year you are unable to get pregnant I would recommend that both you and your partner undergo evaluation. In terms of your symptoms of pregnancy often PMS symptoms can mimic pregnancy but I am not sure exactly why you might be having symptoms of pregnancy when the test is negative. To answer your pap smear question pap smears screen for abnormal cells on the cervix that can rarely turn into cancer.
