Pelvic Discomfort/Functional Ovarian Cysts

I am 32, no kids. I am small framed, 5 ft 1, and 102-104 pounds usually. I have written in here before about my experience with pelvic discomfort that started suddenly on April 11th. At first, it seemed related to my bladder. My fam doc gave me 2 weeks of antibiotics (no urine culture). I've since had 4-5 urine cultures come back normal. I've had a transvaginal ultrasound that showed 2 functional cysts and what appeared to be a ruptured cyst, though I never felt any great discomfort from that (unless the uti symptoms were that). Maybe I had a uti and coincidentally my ovarian cysts started causing issues at the same time?

Anyway, it's been a month and a half and I still feel vague pelvic discomfort, like below my pubic hair line. It sort of feels like burning sometimes and it comes and goes, doesn't affect my sleep. I don't have bladder issues anymore. My urologist did an ultrasound of my bladder and it looked normal to him.

Sometimes I go a week without feeling anything, and sometimes I think it is over. Then the day my period started (spotting but still) I started feeling the discomfort again. My period was very light this month but lasted about 7 days and ended yesterday.

I have a pelvic and abdominal ct coming up, along with another transvag ultrasound soon but I am freaking out, thinking I have ovarian cancer or something.

I have had no bloating, no back pain, no change in bowel habits, no headache, no nausea, no loss of appetite. I feel healthy otherwise.

Also, I was on the pill for 15 years until about 3 months ago. I have never had heavy or uncomfortable periods. I started back on the pill 3 weeks ago (Loestrin).

Is it likely that this discomfort is just from the cysts and will go away soon or do I have cause to worry because it's been a month and a half and the pelvic discomfort has not gone away? Is 2 months of pelvic discomfort normal for small functional cysts and what appeared to be a ruptured cyst?

I was hoping the discomfort was related to my period and that it would go away when my period ended, but I think my period is mostly gone now and I still feel a tiny bit of discomfort. On a scale of 1 to 10, my pain scale is about a 1-2 at the most.

I have been under a lot of stress lately and wonder too if this could affect anything.

I can deal with whatever it is as long as it isn't cancer. This is all I can think about, which adds to my anxiety.

Can anyone offer any insight? I am losing it.

It could definitely be from your cysts.  There is no need to freak out because functional cysts are not usually cancerous!!  I would give the pill a month or two to see if it is going to help shrink your cyst.  If the discomfort continues, then you can opt for other options.  When is your repeat ultrasound?  Keep in mind that when you have ovarian cysts, they can mess your periods up and cause cramping.  You starting birth control back up could also mess with your period.

Thank you so much!

I am having a pelvic and abdominal ct scan on Saturday, blood work today and another ultrasound on June 10th. I hope this will help me find out for sure if it's the cysts causing the discomfort.

I keep reading about endometriosis, but my periods have never been heavy so I feel that it shouldn't be that. I am just so paranoid about cancer and even though all signs point to normal ovarian cysts, I'm having trouble believing that this discomfort for nearly two months can be caused by small functional cysts. I guess stranger things have happened. Thank you for replying to me. I hope the pills work and cause them to shrink and go away. I'll keep you all posted.
