Lower left pain would make sense. That's the area of the descending colon, where it all backs up just before you go to the bathroom. Your surgery wasn't that long ago and although the exterior incisions have healed up by now, the interior takes longer. Try to keep the stools soft so you don't have to strain or push too hard. The pains will gradually go away but it does seem to take a long time. Remember - they had to do a lot of pushing and tugging to get to those ovaries and tubes to get them out of there. (I had a 10 cm cyst, ovary and tube removed Feb 08)
Thank you for your comment MarieMichele. The pain is slowly but surely subsiding with each day, but I still think it's odd that it is just on one side and mainly when I urinate or have a BM. It's like when I push down I am using that muscle and it feels like it is ripping. Oh well.. I am going to the doctor Monday and will see.
Thanks again.
Teresa
Considering the nature of your surgery, the pain issues are not too surprising. I would still see the doctor even if the pain subsides to be sure nothing else is wrong, such as infection. I had a BSO, too.
