Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

I have just been diagnosised with pcos and wondering if anyone has this and have any suggestions on getting pregnant.  I found out since we are trying for a baby but have not had a period for 6 months now.  Is there anything I should know about anything that I need to watch out with this also?  I am going for a ultrasound today to see if there are any problems from it yet as far as cysis yet.  I am devastated by this since I have always wanted children.  Is there any help as far as emotions with this problem here for this or anyone who has gone through this that I can talk to.  Thank you in advance for any help

Hi

I had a friend with PCOS who went on the diabetic diet , as you probarbly know many women with PCOS are insulin resistant , with the diet her symptoms vanished and she went on to have two children.  It maybe worth a try .

Wishing you well Angie

Don't give up hope of never having children.  Many women with PCOS can still have children.  It just might take a little longer, can be more hit or miss because of the missed periods, may take meds, etc. but it CAN happen.
I had been trying to get pregnant for 3-1/2 years before I was told I had PCOS.  I was told I would not be able to get pregnant without medical help and 1 month later I was pregnant (no meds needed).
I know how frustrating it is to be trying to get pregnant and have it not happen month after month.
As far as anything to watch out for, I'm not sure. I was just coming on here to ask a question about PCOS myself.

I just wanted to tell you that you are not alone and I truly know how awful it is to want a child and have to wait and wait for it to happen.  Best of luck.
