Recurring cyst?

I had a simple cyst removed laparascopically in March, and I'm worried it's come back because it's hurting just the same and I'm still having bladder symptoms and bloating.  Has anyone had a cyst come back so quickly on the same ovary?  I've got a scan in a week or so.  I can't keep having them removed every three months surely?!

It was another cyst of 4cm which had ruptured - the gynae thought it had been there since the operation. I've got a repeat scan in November to make sure I haven't developed another one by then.

The last one was 8cm and I'd had it for 14 months and bladder symptoms all that time, although no pain until the last 4 months or so.

I have real problems with bc pills and can't take the combined one at all.

I had my scan today (ouch!) and the guy's initial impression was that there was something still there, maybe the remains of the original cyst, and I was having a little internal bleeding, but he was very cautious about saying anything at all and wanted me to wait to see my GP once he had reported.  That doesn't really give me much to think about.  I can't find anything online about still bleeding after three months.  I guess I could have had another cyst rupture but from what I've read I'd surely know about that!

Anyway, thanks for coming back to me.  I'll update next week if I hear anything conclusive.

I agree - you cannot keep having surgeries. Simple cysts usually go away on their own. But sometimes it just takes a few cycles or so. How big was the last one you had removed and how long had it been causing symptoms?

It would definitely be worth trying some sort of preventative measures (such as birth control pills).

Hi, I hope not for your sake! If you keep getting repetitive cysts you should take birth control pills, they can prevent the cysts from forming in the first place.
