Reoccurence of dermoid cysts?

Two years ago when I was 21 I had two dermoid cysts removed. The one on my left ovary was 10 cm and I had to have the entire ovary removed. The one on the right ovary was only 4.5 cm and I have most of that ovary left. Recently I've begun having the same symptoms I had before. Stomach pain is the main one. I had apparently had my larger cyst since I was about 17 and didn't know until I had an exam after I was married. My question is, how often do they return? I am having an internal ultrasound tomorrow to see how things looks. Luckily I was able to have a child still, even after the removal of one ovary (I also have many other reproductive issues). Any information would be great. Thanks.

Thank you for your post. I went to the doctor and they have done a few ultrasounds. I do have another tumor, but we haven't decided if I need another surgery or not.

They can return, but how frequently, nobody can really predict it.  You just have to pay attention to your body's signals and get checked if you think new cysts have formed.  Hopefully it is nothing.
