Hi everyone, I've been looking for answers to my question, but I haven't seen anything yet. I had laparoscopic surgery on 2/9/15 for an ovarian cyst removal. I'm 27 years old, relatively healthy and never even noticed I had a cyst until I had a check up. It was 15cm/6in and on my left ovary. The surgery went fine, my ovary didn't need to be removed, but my fallopian tube was stretched and the doctor said it would shrink back. My initial recovery time was 1-2 weeks and I was feeling better everyday and went back to work on 2/19 (I have a desk job so it's fairly sedentary). I had normal pain near my left incision where they removed the deflated cyst, but it has since gone away. Recently, since around 2/17 (8 days after surgery), I've had a sharp pain in my abdomen on my left side, about 2-2.5 inches away from my incision and inside. It's always hurt to laugh, cough, sneeze, etc since surgery, but the pain now feels like it's increasing to where I can't do anything like sit, shower, or walk without a sharp pain. (Laying down/getting up has been excruciating since the surgery - first back aches and now this sharp pain.) I called my doctor yesterday and the nurse assistant said it was normal, probably scar tissue and general recovery and would ask the doctor (who supposedly also said it was normal). I'm taking the prescribed ibuprofen 800mg every 8 hours, but it doesn't seem to help. Is this normal? Has anyone experienced sharp pain inside 2 weeks after surgery? How long is it supposed to last? Any help would be appreciated, I don't know what else to do!
