Sunset ovary pain

I'm having severe right lower abd pain. The pain is so severe I had to be seen in the ER and came close to passing out. I beleive it to be either ovulation pain or a cyst because I do have a long history of cysts on my ovaries. Why does my pain ONLY happen when the sun starts to set and continues to hurt until 9 or 10 at night ?

You have been through a lot with all those cysts. Best of luck to you as far as conceiving.

I've had 4 cysts removal surgeries and they just keep coming back to only my right ovary this one made the 5th. I did have it removed and dr said it was the best thing for me cause it kept getting bigger by the time he removed my ovary the cyst was 12 cm. I'm now experiancing the same pain on my right side where my ovary used to be that comes and goes. Aleve is my best friend lol... oh and btw I have several co-workers that conceived with only one ovary so all I can do is hope and pray.

Did the doctor not not say anything about removing just the cyst and preserving your ovary or as much of it as possible? Losing an ovary can reduce your chances of conceiving. There are doctors who do cystectomies (cyst removals). If they do a lot of them, they should be able to preserve your ovary (as long as the cyst is benign which most are). I made the mistake of trusting and listening to my doctor's recommendation instead of seeking out a doctor who would preserve my organs. The sex organs are essential our whole lives for good health and well-being; they are for much more than reproduction.

Well I was seen in the ER Monday night for the pain and they done a CT scan and I had a 4.3cm ovarian cyst on my right ovary, so they recommended I follow up with my GYN asap. I went to my GYN Wed. morning and they done a vaginal ultrasound and I now the cyst on my right ovary has grown to be 6.5cm. Im scheduled for surgery next Thursday to have my right ovary removed. Doctor reassured me that I still could get pregnant with only only ovary so I'm happy about that because I still desire to have at least on child of my own.
