Surgery via vagina for ovarian cancer

I am trying to find someone who had a surgery via the vagina and ovarian cancer was found.  What did the doctor do?  Continue with the surgery, removing the ovaries, or did they switch to a abdominal entry surgery to remove the ovaries?  I had my cancerous ovaries removed through my vagina and no staging was done.  I will have staging surgery in two weeks (was delayed because I had an infection due to my surgery).  Please reply to my question if this happened to you or someone you know.  Thanks.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.  I am very fortunate that the cancer was caught at stage 1, but I am concerned that the fluid from the ovaries may have contaminated my abdomen.  I will let you know how the surgery goes.  Best Regards, Gina

Hi Gina, I just messaged you on another question.  I do not have any advice about the vaginal surgery.  You could probably ask the same question on the ovarian cancer forum.  Someone over there may have experienced the same thing.  I am so sorry that you are going through this.  Please know that my prayers are with you now and through your surgery.  When you can, please let us know how you are doing.
