ULTRASOUND FINDINGS

I am 26 year old, single, with irregular menstrual cycle. Sometimes I dont hae my period for 4 and sometimes 7 consecutive months.

Recently, I undergo U/S and the findings are as follows:
1. Right Ovary measures 2.9 x 2.4cm and abnormalities noted numerous subcentimeter follicles are noted.
2. Left Ovary measures 3.4 x 1.7 cm and same abnormalities noted.
3. Cul de sac is intact.
4. Diagnosis: Normal Sized anteverted Uterus with unthickened endometrium.

When my Obgyne analized the result, she just draw a big circle representing my ovaries and inside that circle aretiny circles.

I asked her if its ok having that findings and she just said "It stated it is abnormal.. do you think its ok?" and with no further explanation at all.

Now im left confused and nervous on my ovaries status.

I just finished taking provera and waiting for my period to come before I go back to my Obgyne for follow up check up.

Is someone out there have this same problem? Where did i get that numerous follicles?! Please Help...

During childhood, approximately half of ovarian follicles are absorbed by the body. By the time a girl reached puberty and her menstrual cycle begins, only about 400,000 ovarian follicles are left to develop into mature eggs.
