Want to my options

Is it possible to carry children without having both ovaries?I am facing  the possibility of having what's left of my right ovary after already having my left removed almost four years prior? Also is in vitro fertilization an option for me?

I am sorry you are faced with maybe losing your remaining ovary. Not only does that obviously affect fertility, it will affect many other aspects of your health. A woman's ovaries produce hormones into her 80's for optimal health and well-being. I lost my ovaries at age 49 and it has been devastating in every way. If you do not have CONFIRMED cancer, I hope you can hang onto it. Best of luck to you!

Thank you for your help. I am 18 and I just wanted to know if I needed to make changes about having children in the future.

Before you have your remaining ovary removed, talk to an IVF doctor.  One possibility is egg freezing, another is embryo freezing, if you have a partner.

If none of this is possible, and you do have the ovary removed, you can still get pregnant and carry a child but it would need to be be by a donor egg.
