What is a anechoic avascular mass mean?

I just got my test back from the doctor and it said that I have a Anechoic avascular mass in my right ovary. I had a transabdominal pelvic ultrasound done for I had pain in my right lower side of my body. I called my doctors nurse to ask her some more inforamtion and she was no help at all. I was told to get a GI appt which I did but its over a month away and I am worried. Does this mean I have cancer? or what? a month is a long time to wait for this answer, could someone please help me sort this out.

Welcome to the community. The "avascular anechoic" would make me think it is a fluid-filled functional cyst that is a normal part of the menstrual cycle. However, sometimes functional cysts can hang around longer than normal and get larger but most do resolve on their own in 2 to 3 cycles. I don't know if "tubular" refers to the shape or that it is in the Fallopian tube. Please get clarification from your doctor. Let us know what you find out.
