I have been having pains on the right side of my abdomen for 5 weeks now. It has been really bad for the last 3 weeks. I went in for a post baby checkup last week and was told that I have a cyst on my right ovary, but that we would wait and see if the pain goes away before doing anything. The pain started to subside so I didn't call back, but now it is coming back worse then before. I had constant pain last night and couldn't sleep because of it. I am also have really bad back pain on the right side. I am currently on my cycle, so I am wondering if the cyst burst and I just wouldn't know it. Is this a big deal? Should I go see my doctor or am I just over-reacting? Thank you for reading this. Hopefully someone can help.
It could be the cyst resolving itself now that ovulation is over and you are having your cycle. If it is not excruciating, it is not an emergencyEmergency airway puncture Emergency contraception-room issue (those would be when a cyst twists the ovary/tube area enough to cutCuts and puncture wounds off blood supply). Did your doctor schedule any type of follow up for the cyst or describe its size and type at all? Any ultrasound tests done to get a better look? If you are still in pain after your period, you should get better information on the cyst with a gyn exam specifically for that purpose.
The doctor didn't do any of that. He siad we would so an ultrasound if it didn't resolve itself in 10 days. So absolutly nothing has been done right now. He said for me to call him if it didn't go away and didn't set up a followup. So I have no idea what kind of cyst it is or how big it is or anything.
