Worried about haemorrhagic cyst.

Worried about haemorrhagic cyst.

I am 28 years old and was just diagnosed with a 5.5 cm haemorrhagic cyst. My gyno sent me for a transvaginal ultra-sound and that is how they found it.  He said that we will keep an eye on it for the next month to make sure that it is shrinking on its own.  I asked if it was benign and he said it most likely was although there was no way to tell for sure unless they took it out to test.  I have been having the following symptoms for almost a year; pelvic pain, constipation, frequent urination, pain during sex, gas, bloating, constant feeling of fullness in my abdomen, also recently I had a weird throbbing sensation in my vaginal and rectum area.  My doctor found blood in my urine and something else and diagnosed a urinary tract infection, then sent me to get the ultrasound since the pain in my pelvis/addomen were getting worse and my period was 3 weeks late this cycle. In Jan of 2006 I had an ultrasound and they did not find anything. My periods have always come 30 days apart until I was on the pill and then the IUD shortly after that.  I was also diagnosed with chlamydia in november 2006 and had the IUD taken out.    Could all of this pain and the cyst been caused by the IUD, chlamydia, etc?  Could these be the symptoms of ovarian cancer or are these symptoms only from the cyst?  I do not really have any history of it in my family. Could I have just been getting cysts all along and did not know it?  I know this is a book but please help, VERY concerned.  Thanks

Hello,
I just wondered how this resolved for you?  I have had the same symptoms, including pain when inserting tampons and weight gain, for 18 months also and I am going in to see my gyno tomorrow, I have had an ultra sound and have been diagnosed with a 5.4cm x 4.5cm haemorrhagic cyst.  I was originally diagnosed with chlamydia, twice, I have had the implanon in my arm for around 12 months and experienced problems for 3 months with bleeding. I have experienced occasional spotting since then.  I am considering removing the implanon.  The pain in my pelvis normally comes and goes but over the past 2 weeks it has been constant.  I am hoping that my gyno says to remove it as it is beginning to be an increasingly frustrating pain!
I would appreciate hearing more about your experience and how it resolved. Thanks.

Hello,
I  have been to see my gyno today and he said that I will need to go for another US in 4 weeks and then if the cyst has not shrunk or gone then he will remove it.

So hopefully it will shrink!  I will update again in 4 weeks!

Hi Lynda

I am having the same syptoms (symptoms) as you both too however I was never tested positive for chlamydia although I had all the symptoms of it. Just got back from my GP as my ultrasound showed a cyst on both my right and left ovary. They are 3x3 each however this time last year I had a 5x6 cyst on my right ovary that went away on its own. I have to have another US in 4 weeks to see if these ones go away.

Did you have to have the surgery? Has everything now gone away?
