Thank you so much for responding!!! Yes, I do take Ssri already for my pmdd.....if it wasn't for that I would be crazzzzyyyy when my period comes!
I have tried B/C pills and they made feel terrible,or increase my blood pressure....right now I have been on bio- identical progesterone....
My last period was my breaking point! I ended up in the hospital with a severe migraine and my blood pressure was ski high...I also get the severe dysmenorrhea that makes me feel like I have the flu for several days!
That being said....I'm seriously investigating and really praying that God will tell me what to do!!! i don't want to make a mistake !!
So sorry that you feel terrible !!!!
Welcome to the community. I am sorry you have PMDD; I know it can be tough to treat. I only know of one woman who had a hysterectomy for PMDD and she struggled with finding an HRT to feel even half-way normal.
I did not have PMDD but did have a hysterectomy 9 years ago at age 49 and it has been beyond devastating. The problems started within months post-op and just keep piling up. Everything is different (in a bad way) even though I am on HRT - mood, hair, skin, memory, ability to concentrate, my figure, peeing, pooing, sex,...everything.
Please read up on how critical the ovaries are our whole lives for natural AGING. Every cell in the body needs them. Do a search for "bilateral oophorectomy long term health." Hormone "replacement" cannot adequately replace what was removed. You can also find a list of citations on overy dot org.
The uterus and uterine ligaments are critical to anatomical (bladder, bowel, vaginal) and skeletal (spine, hips, rib cage) integrity. This explains why everything falls causing bladder, bowel, vagina issues and figure changes. Some of this is covered in a Medscape article called "Long-term Effects of Hysterectomy A Focus on the Aging Patient."
Have you tried a number of birth control options and/or psych drugs?
