dermoid ovarian cysts

Hi. I had a dermoid ovarian cyst removed 6 months ago.I was not brought back for a check up after my surgery until today 6 months later. is this right. ?? The docter did not check anything not my scar or anything. I told her that i have been bloated and feeling pressure in my adbomnal area, her reply to me was its ur bowel or maybe just that u have to drink more fluids. I taught myself that i would get a full check up to make sure everything was okay.  Should i go for a second opinion

NO it isn't right that you didn't have a followup for 6 months!!  Usually they see you about 2 weeks after surgery and then again at about 6-8 weeks post-op.  The fact that she didn't even look at your incision and just blew you off about being bloated and pain is NOT RIGHT!! It makes me so mad when doctors do this!  If I were you, I would seek that advice of another gynecologist.  It is apparent that this doctor is not really interested in what you have to say.  Please don't ignore your symptoms.  It is possible that you have another cyst or something else going on.  Also, no one knows you body better than you do.  If you think something is wrong, it probably is. I sure hope you get to see a different doctor and get some different answers soon.  Please keep us posted.
