enlarged ovary, complex cyst ?

Does anyone know what this means?   tv/us report says " left ovary is enlarged, 5.4 x 3.2 cm, multiple cystic structures internal echogenicity"  right ovary measures 4.3 cm several simple cysts within the right ovary.  How reliable are us at telling what kind of cyst ii is?  rad impression says "probable hemorrhagic cyst in left ovary"  anybody have any thoughts?

got my results of my most recent tv/us, right ovary is same as before, several simple cysts,
left ovary is still enlarged, but cyst is smaller than last us.  "nonhomogeneous hypoechoic area" do you knowwhat that means?  Had a ct scan in june and it said 6 cm complex cyst on left ovary.  should a complex cyst just resolve or burst?  Also, does anyone know anything about fibroid tumors?  have had one for years, only causes heavy, long periods, not much pain.  this past year it has doubled in size and have constant pelvic pressure and feels like menstrual cramps all the time. (plus the ovarian pain) and low back pain.  am going to new gyn on sept 5 to see about all this and also ablation.  thanks for any info.

A simple 1.5 cyst is nothing.  Our ovaries make cysts all the time & they usually resolve themselves within a couple of months.  Trust me,  I've been through this plenty,  did all of the worrying & come to find out,  cysts are anormal part of our cycle (unless it gets huge & won't go away on it's own).

I think the 2nd opinion is a real good idea. Many times they do advise just monitoring it, but usually it's around 3-6 months time frame.. Keep us posted.

Take care,

Truthfully, there is no sure way to determine what kind of cyst you are dealing with unless and until they get in there and see for themselves via laparoscopy or laparatomy. I was told that my very small cyst was probably a solid (fibroma).. turned out to be  a simple cyst. Is your Dr. suggesting any sort of procedure ?

You may like to check out the "Health Pages" top right of this page. All sorts of great information re: Ovarian Cysts.. In the meantime, try to find out what your Dr. is advising and let us know how things develop and try not to worry.. 95% of all cysts are benign !!
Take care,
Sandy
