Thanks for the response Trudie. Hearing that you have more to deal with than I do, makes me feel like I should actually feel fortunate. I am sorry to hear of your medical issues.
Check this out. I called and left a message for my doc's nurse, asking to be referred to the specialist (again). The appointment desk called me back for another ultrasound (this was yesterday). I was able to read part of my last report. So in march I had a fibroid mesuring .9 cm and a cyst measuring 1.8 cm. Seems like it got big fast. I have no idea what everything measured yesterday, but I do have an appointment to review all my results in about 2 weeks.
I was trying to see the location of each the fibroid and cyst. They both actually seem to be in the uterus. I believe the Cyst was a in the myometrium. I did read the my left ovary just measures over 2.0 cm's, so the cyst is just about the size of one of my ovaries. I guess I'll find out soon. I hope they will just remove the growths and not the organs. But i've read on here that people have 7 cm cysts, so again, I guess I'm lucky. I can't imagine a cyst that large, I'm in pain at 1.8 cm. dang.
I also have a skull base tumor (cyst/lesion) that no one seems to think is too big of a deal either. so I get lots of results. I went to UCLA for this, and they see so many tragic things that this little thing seemed like nothing to them. It's pretty HUGE to me though. funny how that works.
I'm fortunate to have some insurance, Health Net. I'm intersted to see what's covered.
Take care of yourself Trudie,
Shannon
Yes, cysts and fibroids can affect your bowels as they put pressure on them as well as other body parts. You should be referred to a gyn and talk to them about your fears. It is not uncommon to take one ovary (if necessary) and your uterus and leave the other ovary for hormone purposes.
I have a bad anemia problem due to heavy menstrual periods and Lupus issues and do take the supplements
