Does anyone have anextreme itchy scalp and losing alot of hair. It just comes out in 2 or more strands everytime anything touches it. It doesn't have to be a hair brush. I haven't been through chemo yet.

I do and assume it is a result of my hypothyroidism.

It really is annoying isn't it? I think Trudie is right. I think its hormonal. My hair falls out like crazy. I have to scrap the carpet in my room where I brush my hair all the time. My hair comes out in the handfuls in the shower. I'm actually surprised I still have any. I just recently noticed I had alot of the symptoms of hypo, so now I'm going to find a endocrinologist in the area to get a DX finally.

If its not hormonal it could also be lack of nutrients.

I also think being of a certain age and pre-menopausal contributes too.  Yeah, all hormonal.  Aren't we all a fun mixture of chemicals!

Since my surgery on Oct.11 my hair's been falling out like mad, it looks like I washed the family dog in the shower when I was it.. so much in the tub. Now with the hormone changes ( even though I was menopausal the hair was fine ) I'm hoping it can make a comeback.  A stylist told me last month to eat a lot of green leafy veggies and to take a multi- vit daily... there's also a product called nioxin that I'm going to try..
