In July of this year, I had an early miscarriage around 5 weeks (doctors called it a spontaneous miscarriage). At that time, I had an ultrasound and they found a 10 cm cyst on my right ovary. I did not even know it was there until I had the sonogram. I only bled for 3 days with the miscarriage and my periods resumed normally the next month. Since the miscarriage, I have had a dull pain on the right side that I think is the cyst. I just had another sonogram done today to see if the cyst has gotten smaller or bigger and I'm currently waiting on the results. I am 31 years old and do want to have children soon.
What are the possibilities of problems that can occur with this 10 cm cyst?
What are my options?
Would this have affected the miscarriage that I had in July?
i too have a 10 cm cyst that was just 9 cm one month ago. i was originally told that it should go away on its own because it seems to fluid filled but after experiencing an increase in discomfort including back aches and pelvis pain and pressure and leg pain they did a second ct scan which confirmed it has grown. i am now being referred to a ob/gyn for removal. from what i have read on here, a mass this size needs to be removed with a matter of days yet some women are being told to wait and even months. your miscarriage could very possibly been caused by your cyst.a friend of a friend has had several due to a cyst that seems to grow only when she is pregnant. dont be discouraged however. my mother lost an ovary after she had me and was told she would not have anymore children and she has three more ! it only takes one egg.....good luck to you. and did they tell you if your cyst was fluid or complex ?
lol....i know what you are feeling. i have had moments of optimism and then moments of severe breakdown...just comes and goes. im not sure when the surgery will happen but i hope its soon ! i ama bit nervous about surgery even though i have had two before but they were on my leg and almost 20 years ago.haha. any surgery is stressfull on both mind and body but with cysts of this size it is needed especially if it is causing other symptoms. try not to stress yourself too much and try to remain positive.let me know what you find out.
I had a miscarriage in August at about 6 weeks and during the ultrasound to confirm the m/c the ob/gyn discovered two 5cm cysts. They have been monitored every month and at the first month one of them grew to 9 cm. After that month they have just been hanging out. I'm scheduled to have laproscopy next week. My ob/gyn will go in to remove the cysts and preserve as much as the ovary that is healthy. She said pregnancy after this should not be a problem. Crossing my fingers everything turns out well for both of us.
