ovarian cyst and hypothyroidism

i have posted earlier after being diagnosed in june with a complex cyst that was 12.5 x 9.5 x 6.5cm.
after reading lots of sites to plan for my surgery on friday i have some questions i hoped a few of you experienced people could help me with-
a few sites have underactive thyroid links. i myself have had hypothyroidism for 16 years and take 200mg thyroxine daily. are the 2 things sometimes related- i am just curious?
also from my research alot of people tend to have a reoccurence, is this usual?
at present i feel like a pushing pain and tenderness in a band level with my sternum has anyone else experienced this?
and finally i thought i was having a bikini line cut or may be presumed, but alot of people seem to have vertical cut- is this the favoured treatment?
sorry i no it is alot to ask but thank goodness for sites like this. i never thought of these questions in the specialists room!!!
xx

I will be having my fifth lap tomorrow for a complex cyst and endo!  I also have hypothyroid and have for four years since my pregnancy.  I see a reproductive endocrinologist and he has told me that yes they can be related.  Has something to do with the autoimmunity!

Sorry, I can't help with the laparotomies since all of mine were laparoscopes.. 3 small incisions..

But I had to write re: the hypothyroidism..interesting question since I too have the condition.. can't think why there may be a connection but who knows.?? Good luck and keep us posted..

I'm sorry, I know nothing about Hypothyroidism......
I have had 3 laparotomies and they were all bikini cut.  Do you have a preference?  If so, talk to your Dr and see what they advise.  I don't understand what you mean by "in a band level"??

Hope you find relief soon!
