ovarian cyst symptoms

Hi Everyone,
First of all its heaven sent that i am able to discover this website.....im 35 yrs old and 3 days ago, i was told by my GYN that i have a 2cm ovarian cyst on my left ovary......she said we have to wait for a month or two to have it check again as it is still small.....but my worry is that i'm having constant pain everyday......sometimes it gets severe.....my gyn only give me ibuprofen to take.does this causes severe pain????or im the only one? i might go for a second opinion esp with the pain i;m experiencing.

thanks.god bless.

i used to have serious pain with mine too and i have a 3cm cyst on my left ovary. there were times when i could not even sneeze or walk! and the doc always say its nothing to worry about. they gave me ibuprofen but since after readin it can result in stevens johnson syndrome i stop took it and try to take the pain or use a warm cloth or shower. so you are not alone in experiencin pain.

Hi, first of all u need to ask ur doc what kind of cyst it is?
I had a 20-17-13cm cyst that was thought to be on my right side, I had it for god only knows how many years (I didn't go to doctors for pain)
I had constant back ache, hip pain, bloated feeling, tender breasts & painful shoulder but over years I just got used to it (bad I know)
Well had my laposcopy done on Friday and it was actually on the left side! They took it out along with my left ovary & Fallopian tube and I must say although all the surgery is painful and can't move properly I still feel better!!!!
It could be that u hav a mobile cyst whIch when u move a certain way it leans on other organs or catches a nerve ( that's what my basketball sized cyst was doing) I know it's not a happybplace to be in but u will feel much better once it is gone,
Take care from K

I have had right sided ovary pain but it also hurts all the way around to my back. Its only happened once but the pain was severe. Woke me up at 3 in the morning and lasted for over an HR. I recently had a laproscopy and they had found a cyst on my left ovary. I also have PC's as well. Pelvic congestion syndrome.

I have been suffering w/ovary pain and cysts for over 5yrs.
has gotten to the point where OTC meds don't help. Went to
my Dr today did the utrasound and I have a 2cm cyst on my
right ovary.. this is the one that I constantly have the pain.
I am 47 and getting tired of living like this. I am also pre-menopausal my periods vary.. This month (Sept) I got  it on the 12 and now we
are on the 30th and am spotting again... And yes the pain is back.
I decided to have the Ovary removed.  My Dr gave me Darvocet
and I take it as needed.. Ovary pain is not fun.. just very painful.
arrrrggghhh. Wish me luck.

Pain is very common, even with the smaller cysts.  At 2 cm it is still small enough to hope for it to resolve (go away) on its own after 1 or 2 menstrual cycles.  Did your gyn say what type of cyst it is?  Ibuprofen works, yes, but take the smallest dose that works for you.  I took 2 pills for years and then discovered I got the pain relief I needed with only 1 pill (I'm referring to the non-prescription strength).
