ovarian cysts

I was diagnosed with endometriosis when I was a teenager and thought I had appendicitis due to the overwhelming pain. I successfully had to children without complications.  At 36 I began what I thought was a normal mensrual cycle that lasted 2-3 weeks with excessive blood loss and large clotting.  After a vistit to the ER and a follow up visit I was admitted to the hospital for a blood transfusion due to the fact I had lost so much blood I was told I would have bled out in a few days.  I was so dizzy I could not function and my heart felt like it was ready to bust out of my chest with just walking up the stairs.  The culprit was found to be an ovarian cyst that had twisted.  A biopsy revealed that it was benign and I have not had any follow up in a year.
The problem is within the last 3 months I have began to have abnormal mensrual cycles again lasting for up to 7 days and reoccuring two times a month.  Currently the last cycle ended 11 days ago and has begun again with less clotting than before, although heavy.  The cycles are getting closer together and intensifying.  I have no pain, just discomfort which is what I experienced last year.  I am scared and do not want this to escalate to the point it was before.  I have been taking iron supplements(I am very anemic), milk thisle, daily vitamins and have just begun to add menopause supplements in to my diet as recommended previously to prevent excessive bleeding.
Should I be concerned and why does this continue to happen?  Thank You!

Everyone is spot on, you need to see your gynecologist as soon as you can.  You don't want to end up back in the hospital having emergency surgery.  If it is possible to keep the cyst and ovary from twisting, then you need to do it.  No one knows your body like you do.  If it is telling you something is wrong, then it probably is!!  Listen to what your body is telling you.  Please don't ignore this.  Good luck and please keep us posted on how you are doing.

i agree make an appointment with your gyno and make sure you dont have a cyst and that it isn't twisting. especially since u are anemic you should be very cautious about ur menstrual bleeding. maybe you should try the pill (birth control) it is used alot to regulate a menstrual cycle. i wish you the best of luck! keep us updated we're here to help and be supportive since we are all going through this

i think you should see a doc. if your body is acting up then it's trying to tell you something. getting checked out i think would be a good idea. hope you feel better.
