ovary removed

Hi I am 34 years old I have 1 child and 4 years ago I had a hysterectomy but they left my ovaries since then I have been getting cyst on both my ovaries ranging from 2 centimetres up to 9. I had one removed from my left ovary which was cancer-free. I am going to go see my Dr on Friday my question is do any of you think I should just tell him to take both my ovaries out and how long do any of you think I will have to stay in the hospital.

My ovaries (and uterus) were unnecessarily removed 9 years ago at age 49. I am still shocked and horrified by how drastically it has affected everything about me...RAPID AGING for starters!

Hysterectomy can alter the natural functioning of the ovaries which may explain the cysts. Intact women's ovaries produce hormones until at least age 80 for optimal health and well-being.

Have you tried birth control pills? Those work for some women to keep cysts from forming and to shrink existing ones.

That's a big jump. You remove them both that will send you into early menopause. You could look into taking out the most prominent one that produces more and hope the other one slows down.
