recurring ovarian cysts

Hi,
Just browsing the internet and figured I'd put myself out there...
I had my first ovarian cyst at 18 or 19 years old and I'm now 22, almost 23 and have had multiples ovarian cysts since then. Just a week ago, I had a 9cm. cyst removed. This is taking such an emotional toll on me. I'm afraid this will affect my fertility and health. Also, OTC pain medications do not help at all unfortunately. I have been prescribed Oxycodone and Hydrocodone on several occasions but I'm starting to become afraid that doctors will start to think I'm just trying to get drugs now..I'm really starting to feel hopeless and do not want to go through anymore surgeries.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you for responding to my post. Unfortunately, I have tried just about every kind of birth control pill out there and I have been tested and do not have endometriosis. I had a laparoscopic surgery on April 1 and I was healing ok until a few days ago and started having severe pains on my right side. My gynecologist sort of blew me off about it. I'm starting to feel hopeless...

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Some types of ovarian cysts are more likely to recur than others. This includes endometriomas and functional ovarian cysts. You need to consult your gynaecologist for these two types of cysts. If you are premenopausal and are concerned about recurrent cysts, taking a birth control pill or other hormonal form of birth control may help to prevent ovarian cysts from developing
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
