scared and worried

I am 35 years old and I have had some extrem pain in my left ovary for the past 3 months.  I had 2 incidents where the pain was so bad for 3 hours.  I have had a ct scan and the results are.  A cyst has ruptured and fluid is present, also there is a 1.3 cm lesion.  My doc referred me to a ob doc asap.  I am scheduled for a ultrasound tomorrow.  What does this mean?  From what I have read, a lesion doesn't sound good.  Any info would help.  I am very worried about this.

Thank's for the info.  How long does the pain linger?  The last rupture was Feb 12th, and I am still having discomfort and pain once in a while. Will the doctor usually remove an ovary if this keeps hapening.  I can't go on the pill, due to having had blood clots in my lungs 5 years ago.

Can't answer this any better than MarieMichelle. Just wanted to add that she gave you good sound advice and that you should get that ultrasound and go from there. That is a small lesion and probably will go away on it's own, but it is always good to check. At the top right corner of this page, it says Health Pages, click on that and go to cysts and do some reading. That might allay some of your fears. Good luck!

"Lesion" is a catch-all word they use.  It could easily be another benign cyst (95% are benign) and since you already had one rupture it seems the chances are good it's either another cyst or the remains of the ruptured one.  The CT is not enough information and it is correct to see a gyn and have ultrasound.  Most likely that means two forms of ultrasound, both externally and internally (TransV US) for a much clearer picture and a pelvic exam.  They may not tell you anything tomorrow (ultrasound technologists are often banned from commenting and leave it to the doctor).  This is the hardest part...the waiting, wondering and worrying.  You also need to make sure the rupture is healing properly without infection--even so the pain and swelling can linger for awhile.  May require a followup visit to make sure all is well.  Best wishes...try to stay calm!
