septated cyst!!!!

hello i posted yesterday and i have news i went to see my gynecologist today and got results of my ultrasound:

ovaries:there is evidence of large septated right adnexal mass measuring 5.4x3.8 with thick internal septations and echoes within the cyst   component.

conclusion:septated large right adnexal mass. the diferential diagnosis could include a cystadenoma, carcinoma or right tubo-ovarianabcess .further investigation is strongly suggested.

my dr told me to wait for my next period and 7 days after go do another ultrasound if its not gone or as soon as possible to get rid of it and ovary ....

what do you guys think im scared to death is probably cancer ?? iam 40 non menopausal ....

It's always a good sign, I think, when the doctor is willing to wait a few weeks. It's not terribly large and most cysts, whether they're simple or complex, are benign. The risk does increase a bit with age, but try  not to worry about that. Find comfort in knowing most are non-cancerous. I'm sorry you have to wait that long, honey. Try to keep busy with things you enjoy. If you develop a fever accompanied by pain, go to the ER. Good luck!

Hi,
Unfortunately, this waiting is the hardest part ! There is just no way we can determine any better than your Dr. what this may be unless and until you have further tests and/or surgery. Don't jump to the conclusion it is cancer. It could be a cyst, abcess, etc.

I know that the waiting is brutal, but we've all had to do exactly that. There is no quick easy answer.. Sorry, I wish I could be more encouraging.
