should I be scared?

I recently received the results from my ultrasound as follows:

FINDINGS...
Anteverted uterus measures 14 x 6.5 x 4.5 cm.  Multiple nabothian cysts are noted.

There is a  homogeneous appearance of the endometrial echo, measuring 0.5 cm in thickness.  Right ovary measures 3.1 x 2.2 x 1.6 com and left ovary measures 4.1 x 3.5 x 2.4 cm.  Round hypoechoic lesion with posterior acoustic enhancement measuring 1.9 cm is noted in the left ovary.  Flow is noted in both ovaries.   No free pelvic fluid is identified.

IMPRESSION...

1.9 cm complex, probably hemorrhagic, cyst is noted in the left ovary.  Follow in6-8 weeks is recommended to ensure resolution.

Honestly, I do not know what all this means, should I be scared of cancer?  Why wait 6-8 weeks for follow-up, what if it grows by then?

I had a similar scan and had a heamorhhagic cyst - this has now been removed by keyhold surgery - you have nothing to worry about - l was terrified of cancer and no pevic free fluid is a good sign

Hey there, I need to add something.  Nabothian cysts are certainly nothing to worry yourself about....just Google them and see what you find.  So far as your uterus goes, he is simply saying it is tilted a little.
Peace.

The radiologist who read the films seems to think there is nothing wrong, but that the ultrasound should be repeated in 6 - 8 weeks to see if there are any changes...... he seems to believe your cyst will be gone by then.  He is just giving you time to cycle again, and NO you don't need to be worried about ovarian cancer..... don't be borrowing trouble.
Cysts like the one you have are a normal part of your monthly cycle.....each month one developes and then "resolves " on it's own.
It would be a good idea for you to call your doc's office and talk with him or an assistant.  Don't ever be afraid to ask...you are your own best advocate, kiddo!
Please do keep us posted.
Peace.

What I meant to say is that I'm sure he doesn't expect it to be malignant. Cysts are 95 % benign and very very common. It very well could increase slightly in size, and they will decide on the proper treatment. The waiting is very standard treatment. Again, he will explain all this to you..

You should ask you Dr. to explain this to you which I'm sure he'll be happy to do. If your Dr. has suggested a follow up in 6-8 weeks, I'm sure he doesn't expect it to "grow"..
