I can relate a little with my story. Well I have hormonal cysts, so they come and go with my cycle (or whenever they want to for that fact) And a few times I have had them burst, which has caused some spotting and extreme pain. I hope you find an answer and everything works out for the better!

i was told off the doctors that if a cyst is less then 6cm then they dont really worry about them they may go away on there own given time. your better off going to see your gp to talk about your pains. dont worry if it does grow becouse the doctor will see it and sort it out. mine grew to 6cm in 4weeks but they just sent me to the gyno, and i found out it was a fluid cyst coused by the pill i went back 2 weeks later and it shrunk back to 3cm so i now go back in 8weeks and they say it should of gone.  i hope everything goes ok

Hey!

I am Jen,
I have an ovarian cyst. I am going on 26 next month and I have 2cm cyst on my left ovary
and a 0.4cm kidney stone on my left kidney. I was told these are nothing and my
cyst can hemmorrage and bleed pop or twist.  When I had my exam done mine was bleeding a bit and i think it is again but i was told thats normal and may happen. Hopefully
mine shrinks and can't get bigger.  I have to go back in 5 more weeks.
You should be ok though and if it shrunk its a good sign :) good luck!

But since then I have had chest pains in the middle of my chest just a little under my left boob and ribs hurts a bit under my arm sometimes... i dont think it has something to do with it but now i am paranoid like usual and it hurts... i also have acid reflux so i thought it was that but hurts more then usual and now more frequent.. i dont know what to do.

Good luck, glad you feel at ease.  My cyst was solid and fluid and was inside my ovary, I had it removed last week whilst 14 weeks pregnant! Hopefully everything is fine with the baby and will continue to be so, and the cyst was a benign dermoid.  I am glad it is out.

Hi Suzi,

I know its scary, never having been to hospital or experience having an abnormality.  I was exactly the same back in November when my cyst was found at 10cm, and I never had any symtoms!.  Its very scary and the unknown is the worst part.

Cysts dont tend to make you bleed unless you are past menopause and some can be hormone related, ovarian cysts normally form outside the uterus , on or in the ovary where if they do burst the fluid cannot escape through the uterus and out through your vagina.   It would collect in your pelvis causing you alot of pain.  But I am not a doctor, this is just my understanding from what I have learnt over the last couple of months.

Depending on how big the cyst is and what it looked like on scan will determine what action they take.  Generally cysts over 5cm with solid and cystic parts they tend to remove to prevent twisting of the ovary and bursting.  A cyst of 6cm can be removed laporoscopy (keyhole) with just a day in hospital and is relatively painless.  But it all depends on what type of cyst you have and what they see when they get in there.  They cannot tell 100% until they are in your abdomen to see whats going on.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.  Lots of ladies are going through the same thing on this forum and you will find it a comfort.
