sick leave

Hi just looking for your opinion. I had surgery three weeks ago to remove a 14.5 cm complex cyst. The surgery was through laparoscopy procedure. I had six incisions as tin cyst had leaked and the had to remove a lot of endometriosis tissue. My question is Regarding sick leave. At the moment i have been off for 4 weeks. I still feel quite sore and that's after not much activity. Would it be unreasonable to ask for another 2weeks off work. I am an elementary teacher and i have a two hour drive to work each day. I just want to ensure that i am fully recovered before returning to work.
