thyroid antibodies or levels?

by KellyK725, Dec 05, 2008 02:18PM
Hi everyone,

I had a cyst that burst. My family doc did a blood test the first time I came in with the cyst and it came back with a high thyroid level. A week or so later, when I still had the cyst, she tested again and it came back with a normal thyroid level but "thyroid antibodies."

Has anyone had this happen while they were dealing with a large cyst? I'm wondering if it's all related and now that the cyst is gone, my levels might be back to normal. She's sending me for a thyroid ultrasound to look at it....not sure what she's looking for.

Thanks for any input!

My hypothyroidism acted up awful with my cyst.  It is not until after that the two have been put together.  My levels were all over and I had intense bloating and pain in my feet, ankles, hands, wrists, knees and elbows.  Shortly after my surgery the hormones leveled out and the other symptoms disappeared.
