ultrasound report for ovarian cyst

Just received my ulstrasound report from yesterday:

The right ovary contains 1.9x2.3x1.8 cm cystic structure with septations. A hemorrhagic follicle or corpus luteum is favored.
Minimal simple free fluid is seen in the cul-de-sac which may be physiologic.

Diagnosis: Probabe complex follicular cyst or corpus luteum in the right ovary.

I am confused - I thought that follicular cysts are always simple. Also is the fact that I have some minimal fluid present indicative of potential much more significant problems?

I missed my period back in March due to extreme stress. Could the cyst be developed due to missed period?

Thank you very much for your answers!

That is the normal plan for most cysts and I am glad he is only waiting 6 weeks.  Some doctors will wait months and I feel that is inappropriate.  Pay attention to your body.  If you have an increase in pain get back to the doctor.  Good luck as you playa the waiting game.

Thank you very much for your answer. The plan is to repeat an unltrasound in 6 weeks. My doctor does not seem to be concerned and said that if i would go on the street and pull random 10 women of childbearing age 8 of them would have cysts on their ovaries....

I also read on internet that simple cysts can have some thin septations.
They said that the fluid is very minimal and is most likely physiological

Does it sound like a good plan to you? My issue now is how to take my mind off this issue for the next 6 weeks....

It is possible the cyst caused the missed period.  The fluid could be due to a previous cyst bursting.  Most cysts do start out as follicular cysts but they don't know why they don't resolve or or develop septations.  Wish I had more answers for you.  What is the plan?
