Emotionally flatlining after surgery

Hi everyone, there wasn't any truly appropriate section to post this question/statement, so hopefully someone can help or re-direct me to a better section.
I had non-invasive surgery a year ago, and whilst I was slipping downhill in regards to physical health, my emotional health remained positive. Here I am, almost on the anniversary of the surgery, and I'm exhausted of trying to get myself better, of feeling constant pain and of being almost physically immobile. If anyone has experienced something similar either personally or with family members, I would love to hear tips or strategies for dealing with chronic pain and the emotional stress which comes with it. Yes I am dependent on medication. No I do not have a history of any other mental health issues or feeling 'down' as much as I do now.

Love and health, xo

i know how you are feeling. i can barely get to the rest room but then i think of my step- dad. he went from being able walk and move around freely. until on night a tree fell on him and broke his neck. after that he only had use of his arms. what kept him going was how much he loved me and my kids. he had his time when he was depressed too. he loved life! he was the one in person my life. to help me through. when i was down and he would tell me. i can do anything! now hes not hear anymore. im more depressed meds dont even help anymore. i only keep fighting for my kids.

all i can really tell you. is to keep your head up and have your love ones around you to help you through your hard times.

even though you never had a issues of mental health. you may be depressed. because whats going on in your life. go and talk to your doctor. they may be able to tell you more about who you can go talk to. so you can learn how to lower your stress. how to learn to use things in your life and around you to destress your self.
because when your in pain it will bring your stress level up and then more stress you have the more your pain level goes up.
so when you are feeling stessed out. its ok to say you need a time out ( break ) form about 5 to 10 minutes or longer if you need it, but remember to go back to finish what your doing.

these are somethings i had to learn to do for myself. do to my health and mental issues. i hope this helps you and you get something from it. i hope you get to feeling better.
