Well first off, you are beautiful and smart. Secondly, your friends need to do more than blown this off, its as real as you feel it is, and dont ever let anyone undermine how you feel. There is nothing wrong with how you are feeling...as a matter of fact PTSD is simply put, a normal reaction, to an abnormal situiation. Symptoms can last along time. Treatment can help, groups being one of them. I have had it since 2004 and have lost 2 marraiges and my 2 daughters because of women not understanding my condition. Seclusion feels good, I know, but it is not the way to get better. My best advice is for you to go on an adventure! Travel across the US meet new people, build new friendships, see new places in order to put the past behind you, otherwise the only thing you have left is to deal with your past. Its easier to deal with the past when you have exciting new memories so that you can appriciate what happened in a way that you realize that without the old ones, you wouldnt have made any new ones. You keep on trucking forward to find who your supposed to be now, besides computers and TV only entertain for so long anyway...maybe we could get together and go see an awesome *** indian medicine man for some spiritual guidence or something like that, as I am having the same difficulty myself since the war. Remeber life is soo short and sometimes going somewhere like Niagra falls of the grand canyon can make our problems seem so small and insignificant we forget all about them!!!
does the fear ever lighten up or go away
fear is a big part of having PTSD :)
