boyfriend with PTSD

My boyfriend has recently been through some traumatic things and now has PTSD. we have been together a few months and he broke up with me this week out of no where. we have been having arguments about little things like jealousy which have been escalating due to his stress with stuff related to the PTSD. He broke up with me, said he still loves me and wants to see me but needs space. What can i do? I miss him and love him so much! i dont want to lose him.

Having a brother myself who has PTSD the wanting to be alone seems to be common. Your boyfriend needs to seek out help to address what he is going through, especially if it is impacting his ability to function day to day. The best you can do is recommend that he seeks out the help. In the end it will be up to him to seek the treatment he needs and that can take time. Hang in there and at the same time make sure you take care of yourself as well.

PTSD is very complex to deal with.
He really needs that space and the best thing you can do
is step back a little from this relationship.
If he feels that "dealing" with responsibilities that come with the relationship are somewhat stressful, in a time where he might have very little control of his emotions and mood, then, even if you cannot even image what it feels like to suffer from PTSD, you must set aside your own needs for now.
Attempting to actively pursue getting back together any time soon, might
backfire and result in alienating him completely!
Hopefully he can find a good therapist to help him through this.

Best wishes
Niko

PTSD may become complex depending on the nature of the trauma. I wrote down what triggers my symptoms of PTSD like intense fear panic attacks anxiety attacks flashbacks and nightmares. I must avoid large crowds, helicopters. smoke. even loud noises or being touched by others. when I went overseas a part of me never came back. :(
