post traumatic stress

my doctor just told me i had post traumatic stress syndrome, and honestly i'm not sure what that means... why are the "symptoms" of this disorder? Are there any long term issues i should worry about?

Loss of interest, bad dreams, anxiety, even depression, some folks experience Physical ailments like upset stomach, there are many effects, even loss of short term memory, panic is a big one a lot seem to get, not wanting to go out or communicate. How are you doing , it is always good if you can talk it through.
