The scar causes pain under my arm and my breast is still affected. The Turkish hospital said it was menopause and offered me HRT. So I came away thinking my breast problem was homonal related and not related to this scar at the side. However, I had occasion to bump into a suture nurse over here recently. She looked at the scar and said it seems the surgical cut is still open under the scar and it had not been sewn up properly 4 years ago. I am not in a postion to afford any surgery over here and was wondering if there where any other measures I could take.
I quite clearly believe now that the breast pain and the pain under my left arm is directly related to this scar.
I am also worried sick now about the long term affects of this infection on my left breast. I also noticed rubbing and ibuprofen cream on the area seemed to ease the pain.
Can anyone give me any advice on what might be the procedure they might do at the hospital to sort this scar out and any other advice would be welcome.
Hi, I'm sorry your having such an awful time and feeling so crummy.
I'm afaid none of us can diagn you or tell you for sure what the problem may be. There is no DR here, so you may want to go the Forums home page and click on the right side under 'Doctor Forums' to get a better answere.
The only thing I can offer is an idea or two that may not be anything near what the problem is. if the scar is red, raised, swollen and feels hot maybe it could be some infection under the skin? Scar tissue can also be painful.
If it is really botheing you to the point of pain and inflamation (inflammation), you should find a way to get it looked at again. Usually swelling, inflamation (inflammation), redness being hot or warm to the touch(compared to the rest of the area)and pain are signs of an irritation or of a possible infection.
Maybe someone will come along who has experinced the same thing and can give you better suggestions.
Wish I could help more
Hope you get it figured out soon
