Being cut off with the I dont feel comfortable treating you!

I got one of those letters and I will tell you I did not sit and feel sorry for myself. Nope. Let me just say this Dr's can say what they choose but If  you haven't got caught Dr shopping. Didn't fail a test he will write that prescription until l you find another that will. He can not leave you with out the medication that you are accustomed to or he will get sued and he very well knows it. Do not let a DR **** you out of your med. That is the most messed up thing I have ever been through and trust me my Dr wrote my prescriptions for four more times after I left because he knew I didn't deserve this crap they pull. I was on five r30 per 150 day and 2 adder all 30s per day Xanax 3 per day 90 a month and soma coma  90 per month. No people I didn't take all..I would have been dead

Actually, a Dr can drop a patient if he wants to. It's not right and it's not fair but it happens.
So many people are ending up in the hospital with withdrawal because Drs won't keep prescribing meds after they've dropped you. They should until you can find another pain Dr. It's inhumane and dangerous to just cut a person off of their pain meds.
There are no laws that say how many pills a Dr can give his patient. We're all individuals with different medical problems. Some people need what is considered a large amount of meds because of their medical condition. There are FDA and CDC guidelines but no laws. Drs are forgetting about this and they're forgetting about the oath they took, first, do no harm.
I realize that a lot of Drs are scared but if they would all stand together and say, we want things back to the way they were.We want that personal relationship we used to have with our patients and to no be told what we can and can not do when it comes to treating their patients.
Instead of the FDA and CDC coming after chronic pain patients they could be spending their time taking care of street drugs. Leave us alone because we didn't ask to be a pain patient and all we want is some relief so we can live a better live and be a productive member of society.
Sorry for the very long message. It just breaks my heart when I hear stories like yours. Have you found a new pain Dr yet?

Hello,
I am sorry for your problem, (Your Not Alone) I do not know what  state your from, In Tennessee they have set laws on how much MG they can give there patients, they cut everyone back, at the time when I was told I started crying and told my Doctor its not fair, and I was so scared, because I still work and have to and the medications takes the edge off the pain so I can work. I was told that they were not happy about it either but they have to comply, I still work, and I'm still in pain, but I am dealing with it, we need to let our Law makers know that because of people that are abusing there medicine people that really need it is being punished..
Hope this helps

South Carolina is very tough, tho. Unless you promise him to his face that you'll hold him liable if he refuses to help you that dr will not give pain meds. It's getting like that in PA as well. So stand tough & good luck!
