Columbus Ohio doctors

Looking for a doctor in Columbus Ohio who does pain management. The last guy we went to treated my husband like a drug addict and was outright offensive. I need a doctor who does both medicine and procedures and apparently this is a hard thing to find. His pain medication dose is low, however, we just changed insurance and our new family doctor says he cannot write more than one script for pain medication because he is under contract. My husband has already had one back surgery in late 2012 and they already told us he now needs fusion surgery but that at his age we need to wait as long as possible. Even with the 10 mg of norco he takes 4 time a day he is still is serious pain. Every morning is an hour before being able to feel human and he has already had to give up softball and now golf is on the chopping block as well. He did have good results with one physical therapist for a while but our new insurance doesn't cover her and it would cost us around 600$ a month to have enough appointments to be worthwhile for him, and as soon as he quits the pain is right back. This has been beyond frustrating for him and it is very hard to watch. The one jerk off pain guy we saw offered up a procedure called a medial nerve block, which sounded very promising, and it is something we are very interested in trying. So here is what I would like to know...

1. Does anyone know of any pain management doctors in or around Columbus Ohio that could do both of these things
2. Has anyone had this medial nerve block done and if so, what were your results?
3. Any one have any other advice for what you have done to make mornings more bearable?

Thanks for taking the time to read this...

Are the exercises he did with the PT able to be done at home? I know when I or my son had PT, we would go for the first PT visit and tell them we could not afford coming to PT except for the first time..So they were kind enough to print out the stages and exercises we could do for free at home. We also used a TENS UNIT.

Go to your insurance carriers website or call them and ask for a list of doctors that accept your new insurance, that is the first place I would start at and make sure you have all of his medical records and just start making appointments for "consultations" and ask them what their treatment plans would be, then choose one from there. I think the term your looking for is "interventional pain management" doctor or clinic, they do both procedures and medication management. Good luck to you.
