Darvocet tapering

by Natan, Sep 19, 2007 04:54PM
Hello, I have been using Darvocet N (100) for the past couple of weeks for (mild) lower back pain.

For the first week I was taking 1 every 6-8 hours.   This week I have cut back to taking 1 every 12 hours (2 per day, max).  I'm not sure at this point if I'm feeling withdrawals from no longer taking clonezapam since being on this new medication or if it's bc I have been taking the Darvocet long enough to feel withdrawal effects, but I do feel a bit more "out of it" by the time it wears off, often 8 hours from my last dosage.  It's not unbearable, however.

In reading other posts, it's clear that my symptoms and dosage is not anything near what some other people are having to take.  For this I am extremely grateful!

However, I would like to know if I need to know what the suggested tapering schedule is for this drug?

What are the chances that I'm feeling darv withdrawals rather than clonezapam withdrawals?  Perhaps both?

Is my low dosage and small amt of time being on the medication going to make it ANY easier??!

I have approximately 10 darvocet left.  I definitely do not need to be taking all of those, so I would like to taper off, but I'm not sure by how much, how fast, etc.   I do feel slightly dependent on them, or else I wouldn't be asking these questions.  :)   I just want to get off now while I still can...

Any advice/help?
