I had a similar situation with a psychiatrist that I found because I wanted to get a proper diagnosis on the depression/anxiety I was on meds for. She had prescribed something for bi-polar disorder based on a guess, and she was constantly telling me I needed to be off the narcotics. She had no answer when I asked her what I would do about the pain? When I first found out I was pregnant, back in January (the one that ended in miscarriage), my husband called the doctor to find out if the meds were ok to take pregnant. She said that she didn't even know if I should be on the meds prescribed and that should couldn't recommend anything as far as tapering off but that I shouldn't take them. She was very insensitive and rude about it. I tapered myself off and felt a lot better not taking them than when I was taking them or the anti-depressants. It's so worth it to find a good psychiatrist that actually cares.
I would be looking for someone else. I have a psychiatrist at the pain clinic I go to just in case I need them. I never saw them, but it has ran across my mind with all the anxiety I've been experiencing and the panic attack I have due to the severe pain. You are paying good money for their service and not recieving the proper care you deserve. I would think that dilated eyes would be a serious issue.
