Dr. Hesitant to write rx's HS anyone else run into this issue in Florida?

When I arrived in Florida in August of 2011. I was on high doses of Narcotics and other miscellaneous meds to control left leg pain from an entrapped peroneal nerve. I found a pain management doctor was willing to give me some shots and to my back. I'll ask him if that's what you taking off all of my meds in order to get a baseline level of pain which I have not had a true Baseline level of pain in 3 years. He was able to manage my pain for multiple years. Until recently I haven't needed to be on narcotics. I'll ask him to please put me back on the narcotics because now I have right leg pain come and issue in my back. And he refused to write this script. At which point would a month-and-a-half ago I found a new pain physician. Who did the usual **** test and waited 2 weeks. I had shots to my L4 L5 L5 S1 levels end of November with a follow-up visit. He ordered a new center for pain which I could not afford the co-pay on. I called the office back told them the situation and ask him to prescribe you something cheaper. Gave him a week to go follow through with that order as well as in order to renew my Neurontin the head then they did not do it I called them again on Friday told them what's going on. Still no pain meds or Neurontin ordered on Friday or Saturday. This is the second time that I've run into in Florida but does not want to write me scripts for paid I don't get it has anybody else went into this issue please let me know thank you

I live in Wyoming and the same thing happens here.
I have been on very high doses of narcotics for nearly 20 years and seem to be grandfathered in.  I will never be off of them.
That said, many of the pain doctors are being so heavily monitored and scrutinized by the Federal Government that they are afraid to write narcotics prescriptions for fear of writing a script for someone who sells their meds or uses the in a way that is not legal.
The government is at fault here, not the doctor!
Uncle Sam has put the doctors in a terrible spot and have asked them to become narcotics detectives regarding their patients!
Thi seems to be getting worse each year.  A doctor cannot just be a doctor, anymore.  He or she has to monitor their patients scrupulously and be a rat if they notice anything out of the ordinary!
I do hope that in the near future, doctors can treat patients as the SHOULD be treated instead of having to withhold needed medications due to being afraid of losing their licenses!
To answer your question as truthfully as I know about, yes!  This is happening in EVERY State!

Manyskunks, I could not agree with you more. It's really sad that the government has came between us and our personal relationships with our Drs. My family Dr was doing a great job of treating my pain for a long time until she was forced by the other Drs in her practice to stop treating all pain patients. She told me that she hated how things are now but her hands were tied. The staff was just too afraid to treat any pain patients. So, we were all forced in to pain management. Even though I've been with my pain Dr for a year now I still get a pill count every single time I go. I get random urine tests. I hate being treated like a criminal and not trusted. All pain patients have to go through this though. I hope things get better in the future but it's not looking good.

It's the government and all their new opioid guidelines.  They have the pain Dr.s scared they are going to lose their license.  It's worse in some states than in others.
