Extreme Right Arm Pain

A few months ago I started getting pain, numbness and tingling in my R arm. I went to a chiropracter and had a few adjustments, and an xray. Xray showed no problems in the spine that could cause that pain. No store bought medications help, nor massaging, hot showers, ice packs, rest, or anything else I have tried. The pain is now also in my L arm, it is excrusiating. What can I do to help with the pain at home?

Numbness and tingling are a sign of a nerve being pinched. X rays will not show nerve or disc problems. You need a mri, ct scan, or myelogram. There is nothing you can really do at home to help relieve the pain. You need to see where it is being compressed and relieve the compression. That is the only thing that will help. I would also stop with the chiropractor until you know where it is. You could end up with permanent nerve damage if it is not properly cared for. Best of luck to you. I hope you are pain free soon.

Hi alindly88,

First, I want to welcome you to the PM (Pain Management) Forum and let you know that we are glad you found this Forum. We are all CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that help each other with our own expertise and experiences that we have developed through our own CP Issues.

I'm so sorry to hear about this pain in both of your arms!!  I'm thinking that you might possibly have some nerve problems in your neck that is causing this tingling and numbness in your arms.  I've got the very same thing and that's what's happening with mine.

You need to get yourself in to the Doctor for a check-up and an x-ray or an MRI to be sure what is going on with you.  I'm so sorry that you are having to go through this!!

I hope that you will keep us informed as to what you find out as I'm very concerned about this "feeling" that you are having in your arms.

I'll be looking for your updates............Sherry  :)
