Good point Sandee I have also called the state health department and Dental board at times.  I called about dental information a couple weeks ago and got someone on the phone that was very helpful and eager to give information.  Sometimes it's all chance how helpful the person you happen to get is.  I would always recommend not giving up if you don't have great luck with the first call maybe try back at a different time of day.  As we all know we have to search and be persistent sometimes because we are often the greatest advocates for our own care and it doesn't always come easy.

I always just do a google search you would type pain management city state.  I have moved quite a few times the past few years to different states and have always had good luck finding any type of care from doctors to dentists by beginning my search this way.  The other thing I do is search for any information I can find posted on the internet about a caregiver before I go see them.  I search their name and practice name all different kinds of ways like last name only, first and last, practice name, whatever combination I can think of and run the searches.  Often you come up with different info just by altering your search criteria just a little.
